Back to School

The school year has started and 2021 is already two months in. As your children get settled into a new academic year, it’s a good idea to bring them in for an eye examination.

Our optometrists will test your children’s eyes for a wide range of eye conditions, identify eye health issues and, if needed, match your kids with the most suitable and stylish children’s lenses and frames.

We’ve also got the latest designer frames for kids from Nanovista Australia, Anne et Valentin, Catimini, JF Rey Kids & Teens to name a few. Fun yet functional, they’re ergonomically designed to fit your child’s face.

If you’ve noticed any of these tell-tale signs below, book your child in for an eye test so that we can check their vision:

  • They tilt or turn their head quite noticeably when looking at something
  • They blink or rub their eyes a lot
  • They have red or watery eyes
  • They have difficulty reading – they skip words, get confused and hold a book very close while reading
  • They complain of headaches and blurred/ double vision
  • They squint or have difficulty recognising things or people in the distance
  • One of their eyes turns in or out while the other points straight ahead

Set for Summer

Did you know that Australia has some of the highest levels of UV (ultraviolet) radiation in the world? This is even stronger in summer when we are closer to the sun. The dangerous thing about UVA and UVB radiation is that it’s not visible to the naked eye. UV radiation can increase your risk of developing cataracts and can also  damage the eyes’ retina. Protect your eyes with these tips from our optometrists. Read the blog here.
